Pix 501 boot loop

I recently had 2 Pix 501 went into boot loop. Both pix can be boot up normally after powering down and wait for 10 minutes. However, if I had tried to boot it up either by reload or not disconnecting it from power and not wait long enough, it will only get into a boot loop.

Does anyone know if this is a hardware or software issue?

Thanks

Eppie

Sure seems like a hardware problem.

I often see similar behavior with failing power supplies. Are you testing both firewalls with the same power supply? If so, swap it out and see if that makes a difference.

No. This is on two different power supplies. However, it is on the same location. I noticed the problem on the first Pix 501. I swapped it with the second one in August. Now I am having the same problem on the second one.

In this case, I am wondering if the power in this location may be destroying power supplies. I will test the first one with a different power supply.

Thanks

Eppie
