CUCM Callback busy allowed - callback no answer not allowed

Hi,

we use CUCM 7.1.3a with the feature Cisco Call back. Now there are some social security risks (observing people). We are adviced to allow only the feature callback busy - the feature callback no answer should not be a possible choice.

Question : Is there a Configuration Setting available on CUCM 7.1.3a which allows to use only callback busy not callback no answer ???

thx and best regards

Hi AT,

Sadly, there is no configuration setting available in CUCM that

will make the distinction between Callback-Busy and Callback-No Answer.

Your best bet is to set up the phones to Forward No Answer to voicemail

if at all possible

Q. Is the Call Back feature available when a call goes to voicemail?

A. No. If a call is forwarded to voicemail then the Call Back feature does not work. The Call Back feature is designed to work when you hear a busy signal.

Hope this helps!

AT, as an added note - the users don't need mailboxes on the VM to make this work.  If you have then configured as CFNA to VM the caller will go to the opening greeting (at least on Cisco VM products) as the default behavior if a call comes in with an unknown number, which would still perform the job that you need - keeping callback on no answer from working.

Cheers!

hi rob,

thx for your answer.

I think although we would use CFNA to voice mail a caller can push the callback button after the first or second ringing tone to observe the calling number ?
