Two Access Points and SSID overlap

We have two access points with two different SSID and DHCP ranges but they overlap in the range.

When we see the client associations on access point it shows that client has been associated with first access point and notebook  receives DHCP from first access point.  But on actual notebook it shows that it is connected to second access ppint SSID.  Due to this it is not clear to which access point it is getting connected.  It's weird but it is happening. Is it because WEP key is same for both access point?

what I feel is that some kind of bridging is taking place. Even if we conect the notebook mannualy to second AP it gets ip from second DHCP range but it can not communicate with any other network. Then it automatically shifts to first access point picks up the IP from frist range and works fine.

Please share the experience.

Thanks in advance.
