SIP Provider for Testing/SOHO - Vitelty

Unanswered Question
Dec 4th, 2009

I needed a SIP provider for testing before I cut over from our old Panasonic system. We're just getting started with UC500 and I wanted to play with the switch now that I got back from training...I signed up with Skype for SIP - it was expensive and a PITA and I didn't get it to work. I took an account I had from playing with Asterix and re-activated it and it worked great....

Vitelity is the provider.  I signed up via

Service Provider = Generic

All server fields =

username and password as assigned by vitelity

Dialplan-->Incoming-->DID is where I mapped the line in...

It may turn out to be a disaster, your mileage may vary, but $1.49 per DID plus .012/min with CNAM fits the bill for both playing around and adding DID for all my employees...we're only 9 people but for <$20, I can now use the SNR, have lots of lines..I'm not moving over our main lines yet but so far so good...

I have this problem too.

Thanks for the update. Intrigued that Skype for SIP did not work for you as its something we have tested and seen work in house. If you have more details would love to hear (Private Message me).

Thanks for the tip on Vitelty - obviously need robust broadband for over the top SIP trunk ITSPs.
