Hi Guys,

I have just purchased 4 channels from Skype as part of the SIP Beta program.

I Have receieved the following information:

SIP User:*******************
Password:*******************
Skype for SIP address:sip.skype.com
UDP Port:5060
STUN address:stun.skype.com
  • SIP user not registered at sip.skype.com

I tried to configure it in the CCA but I am lost.... Can someone walk me through how to configure this?

Also when making a call will I need to dial a 9 to get an outside call then dial the full number 00 44 ******* etc?

What is the stun address and should I port forward this 5060 UDP port on what IP address the CUE the CME

Thanks

Brian

Dear Brian;

Please check this document https://www.myciscocommunity.com/docs/DOC-10787

It explains how to configure it. If you are using the latest CCA 2.2 then no need to download the XML as it is already integrated, if you are using a previous CCA version, then download the XML.

Alberto

Have you successully configured your Skype for SIP with your UC? If so, can you give mne some pointers. I'm really spinning my wheels here trying to get this working.

Thanks

Have got this setup in my lab UC500 and works perfectly. The STUN server address is not applicable to the UC500 and the UC500 by default uses port 5060 so that is not required to be entered either.

Steps to configure Skype for SIP - go to the SIP trunk tab on CCA 2.2:

- Choose Skype for SIP from pulldown

- enter proxy and registrar server as sip.skype.com (make sure you are connected to the internet when this is done so DNS resolution takes place)

- enter username / password under digest authentication (this would be the main account)

- enter the username password in the User Credentials field as well (if you have multiple SIP trunk accounts enter each username / password here)

- Hit OK

Now you will need to setup the Outbound dial plan and the inbound DID mapping to map the external Skype for SIP number (starts with 990xxxxxxxx) to an internal extension.

It may help if you start the SIP trunk config from scratch - set SIP trunk provider to NONE, hit Apply and then follow steps above.

A lot of others also got this to work if you check the comments on the Skype for SIP guide.

Thanks for the usefule information.

Changing the AA extension allowed me to now have the two access codes like I desired,.

Couple questions though.

1. Can I map the inbound DID to the AA?

2. Are skype users calling the skype ID that is setup as the company user or the additional user that I had to assign to the SIP profile in the skype BCM (Under the calling tab I believe). This part confuses me because there is the company user and then other skype users that you assign to the SIP profile.

3. Lastly, in one of the comments, there was a mention of assigning a E.164 number to a user in the CUE GUI? The number used was the skype number? Does that need to be done.

Thanks again.

Brian

1. Yes you can map an inbound DID to the AA (look at Dialplan > Incoming > Direct Dial tab and bottom half has Direct Dial to Auto Attendant, Groups, Operator). Note the way Skype DID works is they always send the DID as the 9905xxxxxxx number. You will need to purchase a real E.164 DID (like say 408 555 xxxx for a DID in San Jose) from Skype and map that to the 9905xxxxxx number in the Skype Business Control Panel.

2. Skype users are calling the +9905xxxxxxx number - company number or other wise

3. Ted ran into this issue but I did not have the problem - would suggest trying this first without adding the number and then going from there

Thanks for the info.

When I call my 9905xxxxxx number from skype it can't complete the call. Everything looks fine in my CCA as I've followed the manual and othre posts to the 'T'.  Is there a good manual out there fro troubleshooting SIP trunks?

Should my seconday access code of 8 have an alternate dial tone like my access code 9 has?

-Brian

One last thing,

When I debug CCSIP Messages, here is some of the output. Some definate error messages. Would this be SKYPE or UC500?
