Hi,

Im facing an issue with  Cisco 1252 AG access point   & Cisco 3750-E -24 PD switch with the inline power.

When connecting the access point to the switch, the POE ports in the switch doesnt provide sufficient power to the access point radio.

The accesspoint gives the following message while disabling its radio interfaces,

"  %CDP_PD-2-POWER_LOW: All radios disabled - NEGOTIATED WS-C3750E-24PD "

The MAX power the switch provides is 15.4 W  but the access point requires 18 W minimum for operation.

Can anyone please guide me on how to proceed.

Does this 3650-E switch support 20 W  ( Enhanced POE).

The IOS image on the Switch is " c3750e-universalk9-mz.122-52.SE.bin "

Please advise,

Thanks ,

Mahesh.

I have this problem too.

It works now..

Thanks to Cisco.com

In Cisco IOS Release 12.2(40)SE and earlier, each 10/100/1000 PoE port provides up to 15.4 W of power to the device. Cisco IOS Release 12.2(44)SE and later supports enhanced PoE. An enhanced PoE port can support any additional powered device that requires up to 20 watts.

This section was updated in the "Budgeting Power for Devices Connected to a PoE Port" section of thee "Configuring Interface Characteristics" chapter:

Beginning in privileged EXEC mode, follow these steps to configure amount of power budgeted to a powered device connected to a specific PoE port:

Command
Purpose

Step 1

configure terminal

Enter global configuration mode.

Step 2

no cdp run

(Optional) Disable CDP.

Step 3

interface interface-id

Specify the physical port to be configured, and enter interface configuration mode.

Step 4

power inline consumption default wattage

or

power inline port maximum

Configure the power consumption of a powered device connected to a PoE port on the switch. The range for each device is 4000 to 15400 mW. The default is 15400 mW.

Configure enhanced PoE so that the maximum power supplied to a device (up to 20 W).
