WAAS 5.1 Enterprise Prepositioning files

Can files be pre-positioned via FTP? Do they have to be Microsoft shares? If I run the WAAS Virtual Blade with WoW, would there be someway of performing this task. Currently, users in a branch, FTP large files down to their desktop app. Is there a way I can pre-position this data using WAAS enterprise with WoW?

Hello,

WAAS 4.1.x can only pre-position files via the CIFS AO. You can pre-position the files via CIFS and this will update the DRE cache for other protocol like FTP and you can get warm hit performance over the WAN. The WOW (windows on WAAS) functions acts like a windows full server on a virtual blade.
