Re: Cisco Call Manager 7.0 : routng of call to Main number

Answered Question
Dec 7th, 2009

I am having a problem with a routing calls from the PSTN to main number configured on the system.

I have configured a Cisco 2821 gateway with t1 CAS circuit for PSTN connectivity and I am using MGCP as the protocol for communication bet gateway and cisco Call Manager.

I am able to make calls and receive calls via DID however when I try to receive a call from the Telco the number hits the gateway but is not being routed to the configured extension.

Attached is a copy of the log from the bebug, can you assist?

NB

When I dial the DN from an internal extension, the call is routed correclty. The Telco is sending the last 4 digits of the main number

Hi

I am just confused by " I am able to make calls and receive calls via DID however when I try to receive a call from the Telco

the number hits the gateway but is not being routed to the configured extension."

Can you make the call to PSTN from internal extension ? And could you please tell me bit clearly what is the problem with incoming calls ?

Thanks.

m-laing Tue, 12/08/2009 - 06:33

This is the problem

I have Call Manager configured to access 4 digits from the ISP. I am using a cisco 2821 with One T1 CAS circuit.

The ISP has provided DID service for this circuit and  is forwarding the last 4 digit of the DID numbers. The challenge I am having relates to the main pilot number for the company. The ISP is forwarding 2424 as four digit of the main number and when I do i voice voice call summary I am seeing that the call actually is sezing channel 13 of the T1 circuit, however the call is not being routed to the destination.

On call Manager I have configured the T1 gateway to accept 4 digits and there is a translation pattern configured to route 4 digit that 2424 to the pilot number of the attendant console. I am able to dial 2424 from an internal extension and the call is terminated on the pilot number for the attendant console. However when I dial the main number from the PSTN the call hits the gateway however it is not routed.

If a configure a phone with DN 2424 the same thing happens.

Ok, just to confirm - when you call in on this circuit to ANY IP phone, does the call route and the phone ring? (Just simplifying it down right now)

Again, does the CSS assigned to the gateway have visibility to the phones/translation pattern?

m-laing Tue, 12/08/2009 - 07:05

Hi

When I call into the DID numbers the extension rings on the phone. However this is not the case with the main number

Main Number: 9272424

ISP is forwarding 2424

I have setup a phone with DN 2424

DID Range 7025150 - 5399 , ISP forward 4 digits and no problem

The Gateway is configured in a CSS-GWY and the partition for the phones and other devices are in this CSS assigned to the gateway.

asandborgh Tue, 12/08/2009 - 07:49

Considering the debug and the fact that your other phones work when called inbound it appears that your gateway and ISP are fine.

Please try the following:

Make sure there is no other device or line that has 2424 assigned (route plan report)

Take the 2424 line on the phone and put it in the partition so it is completely visible

Try the call again

Thanks,

Art

m-laing Tue, 12/08/2009 - 14:31

I removed DN 2424 from the partition and it still does not work, is there any

thing else I can try

asandborgh Tue, 12/08/2009 - 06:08

Hi,

Is the Calling Search Space on the gateway set so it can access the line?

What is the full number and the internal extension that is being accessed here?

Thanks,

Art

ragulan_dms Wed, 12/09/2009 - 01:39

Hi,

1. From the debug PSTN send the digits.

2. When you dial 2424 from internal extension, you can reach AA. - translation patten CCS can reach the pilot number.

3. Phone with extension 2424 does not receive call. - Gateway did not send the call to CCM. ( I believe the CCS and partition are configured properly and temp. remove the translation)

Since Gateway did not send the 2424 it the CCM, you may share the gateway config and the pilot number. And whether is it a MGCP or H323 gateway ? Also provide debug voip ccapi inout. The more information you provide the better we can understand.

Thanks.
