ARINC 664 (AFDX)

Unanswered Question
Dec 9th, 2009

I was wondering if anyone has experience or any expertise in implementing the AFDX protocol on a 3560 switch (..or any other models). Looking for general configuration templates, advise, limitations, lesson learns and etc .....any help or assistance with this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I have this problem too.

Blimey....are you thinking of building your own A380?! I'm not sure it's even supported in IOS. A quick scout about on the Internet reveals the IEEE have done tests with Cisco switches in regards to ARINC 664 AFDX, prehaps it was a Cisco R&D project though to try and get some of their kit used on commercial airlines. Isn't there another field in the frame header which will prevent off the shelf Ethernet devices from recognizing the frame and dropping it? If you find anything out post it here.

Cheers,

Jake
