Hi
I am facing some problem with"WS-X6196-RJ-21 "
The problem is that some port of the WS-X6196-RJ-21 module is not coming up.
It is not giving any error so it is hard to find out the problem.
the same RJ21 connector is working fine with some other port in the same module.
And this problem is random for all the installed module an port.
Can't able to find the cause of the problem.
As per customer it seems the physical caling is ok.
i have checked the show diagnostics and the loopback test is fine for the modules.
IOS also seems to be compatible.
the deatils are as follows:

when you say port doesnt come up on the module what exactly is the behavior you are seeying ?
is the port error disabled ? is it showing down ?
what is its status ?
what do we have connected to it ?
did this ever worked before ?
what is the LED status of those ports ? and on the module ?
is it same ports everytime or its random ? if its not random then it might be those ports have gon bad
when you did diagnostic test was the diag level set to complete ?

Hi Varun
The port is showing down (disconnected )
Normal desktop are conncted to those ports
The module is showing ok but the problem is with specific ports.
This is a newly installed card that we are installing and problem is with almost all modules in the chassis.
The card has recently installed and while installing faced this problem.
The diagnostic level is complete.
Thanks

Thants wierd
if its on more than one chassis then wen would need to further troubleshoot this issue it might be a chassis issue or sup as well.
try to open a case with TAC as it might need some inputs from you to troubleshoot this issue.
regards,
Varun

At this point, it indicates a physical issue.
Check the cabling properly
