CUPS NTP Issue

DOUG DAVIDSON

I just upgraded to CUPS 7.0.6, was running 7.0.3. I am now getting "Critical ntpRunningStatus.sh: NTP is not synchronizing with any of the external NTP servers. Verify the network connectivity to the external NTP servers, that they're NTPv4 and are running. Use CLI 'utils ntp status' to verify their operational status." every 30 minutes. When I run the "utils ntp status" I see the following:

admin:utils ntp status
ntpd (pid 11860) is running...

remote           refid      st t when poll reach   delay   offset  jitter

time correct to within 70 ms
   polling server every 256 s

Current time in UTC is : Tue Dec 15 15:36:34 UTC 2009
Current time in America/Chicago is : Tue Dec 15 09:36:34 CST 2009
admin:

Also, if I look under web OS Admin, it does not have the 10.2.20.5 (which is my Call Manager publisher). It only lists iburst.

Why am I getting these alerts when according to the CLI, it is synced, but it does not show up in the GUI.

The time is correct, by the way.

Thanks,

Doug

Since from CUPS 7.0.4, NTP is not configurable.  It's set to sync with CUCM publisher by default.  I guess that's why you don't see it on the GUI.

But it looks like the developer didn't consider the RTMT.

In short, you can ignore that RTMT alert, if the time is synced to CUCM.

Michael
