Unity Connection 7 - Can't login to web GUI

Unanswered Question
Dec 15th, 2009

Hi,

None of the Web Admin accounts (Incling ucxadministrator) can login.

I can get to the OS through SSH and/or Web GUI though.

I tried resetting the password from the CLI using;

utils reset_application_ui_administrator_password

Although this seems to work, I still can't login.

Any ideas?

Version is Unity Connection 7.1.3.10000-11

I have this problem too.

I ran into this issue after rebooting my publisher, I logged into the OS admin ok then logged into the admin page after that. Might be a bug.

Figured it out with the help of colleagues and TAC....

There seems to a feature in Cisco Unity connection 7.X  where the UI administrator password expires by default and unfortunately needs to be reset through the CLI. You can prevent this by manually marking the web application password for the ui administrator to never expire.

If you haven’t done this and the password expires use the following to reset the password.

admin:utils reset_application_ui_administrator_password

New password:*

Confirm new Password:*

-------------------- utils reset_ui_administrator_password --------------------

Reset user interface password

admin:

*** Important ****

You must run the following command in order for the change to take effect:

utils service restart Cisco Tomcat

if it does not restart automatically you need to manually restart the service.

The last bit is important as the new password won't be active until you reset Tomcat.
