Hi,

we had a power outage last week, after that overhead bogen system is continuously giving a busy noise. Bogen is connected to an ATA, it has to be turned off due to conitnous busy sound. I have checked the 2811 config and it seems ok.

Thanks

Hasrat

Hasrat,

One other observation - on your sh ephone ata it is showing an active call - was there really one up when this was taken?

Hi Hasrat,

A number of possibilities and a few questions here -

The ATA or the Bogen  might have gotten fried by the power outage - try to put a normal analog phone on the port and go off-hook to see if you get dial-tone now.  If you get tone for awhile and then busy the ATA is likely fine but the Bogen appears to be  never going on-hook.  If you get busy from the start the ATA may be fried or need a reset.

Is the ATA registered to CCM?

What role does the 2811 have here?

Thanks,

Art

Hi Art,

This is a 2821 CME router and ATA is connected to HP procurve, here is the config & sh ephone ata related to paging:

is ephone-106 showing offhook because bogen is unplugged ?

Thanks

Hasrat

hi Hasrat,

If the Bogen is now unplugged from the ATA and the ATA is still showing off-hook the ATA has an issue - try power cycling it for starters - it should be on-hook in an idle state.  If you can't get it to go on-hookm it is very likely fried.

If it is still connected to the Bogen unplug the line - it should go to on-hook very shortly.

Like I said earlier - find an analog phone and plug it into the port - it will help determine whether the issue is the ATA or the Bogen.

Hi Art,

I also noticed it after I sent the reply, the IP address was of a 7965, I restarted the ephone and now it does not show the call,

Hello Art,

same site, now if you try to page I don't see ATA in offhook state, if I plug an analog phone it gets a dial tone and ATA goes offhook,

do you think ATA has gone bad ? there is no change in config.

thanks

hasrat

Hi Hasrat,

It sounds more like the Bogen has an issue.  If you connect the analog phone to the ATA and dial the paging number does the phone ring?  If so take it off-hook and see if you have voice cut-through.  If so the issue would very likely be the Bogen.  Has it been power cycled since the incident?

HTH,

Art

Hi Art,

Thank you for the reply, phone does not ring when connected to ATA and neither does it goes offhook, Bogen and ATA were recycled.

thanks

hasrat

Finally resolved, if I dilaed 399 the phones will get the page and by dialing 513 analog phone attached to ATA rang once and the IP phone showed connected , but if I connect Bogen it would ring once and if I speak nothing was heard, dialing 400 was giving fast busy. Deleted ephone-dn 105 which has the paging group configured and added it back, paging is working for phones and overhhead, any explanation will be appreciated ?
