ip host command clarification

ip host hostname port IP

can i get the clarification of this ,

if any document relating

The ip host command simply maps a name to an IP address so

ip host TEST 192.168.5.10

you can now either type

ping 192.168.5.10

or

ping TEST

and they should both work. Note that they are local to the router you are on. See this link for full details -
