Cisco IOS router as an H323 Proxy

JAMES HAYNES

I need to look into how a Cisco router would be configured to act as a H323 proxy for Video conferencing.

I have looked for configuration examples but cannot seem to find any.

I am looking to have an outside company come through a VPN tunnel we have with them

that terminates on a Cisco 3825 in our DMZ. This router would also act as an H323 proxy for Video with the

outside company and then our inside video units could then connect to the outside comapny.

Does any know if this can be done? If so, can you point me to some configuration documentation?

Thank you.

James,

What you want to look at is the Cisco Unified Border Element (CUBE), which is a software load on the router that allows voice or video calls to be "proxied" into the enterprise.  I use that term a bit loosely, as it does a lot more than that, including interworking between H.323 and SIP.  For more information, see this page: http://www.cisco.com/go/cube.

Happy Holidays!

Paul
