Solved: 6500 (-E) Fan module type

Hello all,

I already know that for 6509 we have the WS-C6K-9SLOT-FAN, and for high speed, the WS-C6K-9SLOT-FAN2.

For 6509-E we have the WS-C6509-E-FAN.

The question is...

Can i use the WS-C6509-E-FAN, in one WS-C6509 ? Will it fit in the chassi, and will it work ?

The E fan tray doesn't fit the none-E chassis. Same thing apply to the none-E fan tray and E chassis.

Hi Bruno,

As Jerry noted the E fan try does not work with none E series.

To upgrade your regular 6509 to use sup720 you have to use this part

number for fan try

WS-C6K-3SLOT-FAN2
