How to determine DSP resources

Hello,

I have a question about DSP resources.

I understand that for SIP trunking, the maximum amount of concurrent calls on a given SIP trunk depends on the amount of availiable ro allocated DSP resources available to that sip trunk. Is that correct?

Also, how can I determine the amount of DSP resources my system has available to both SIP truunking and Ad-Hoc conferencing, etc... ?

I currently have an 8 user UC520 with Meetme and Multi-party conferencing enabled.

More detailed specs are available if need be.

Thanks.

Calls over a SIP trunk will invoke DSP resources only if made from a local FXS port, if transcoding is used, or if the SIP call joins a conference session.

Thanks,

Marcos

Hi Marcos,

Thanks.

So if I've read this correctly, calls recieved or placed over a SIP trunk by IP phones do not take up any DSP resources? And does the processing of a SIP trunk itself, i.e. establishing and  maintaining the TRUNK, take up any DSP resources?

Calls over a SIP trunk will invoke DSP resources only if made from a local FXS port, if transcoding is used, or if the SIP call joins a conference session.

Marcos

Thanks.
