Hello all,

I have Catalyst 3750-E and need to use the object tracking.

When I configure the object tracking on the Cat3750-E, I found the message as below

saying "% Attempting to exceeded list size limit"

-------------------------------------
Switch(config)#track 200 list boolean and
Switch(config-track)#object 1
Switch(config-track)#object 2
Switch(config-track)#object 3
Switch(config-track)#object 4
Switch(config-track)#object 5
Switch(config-track)#object 6
Switch(config-track)#object 7
Switch(config-track)#object 8
Switch(config-track)#object 9
Switch(config-track)#object 10
Switch(config-track)#object 11
Switch(config-track)#object 12
Switch(config-track)#object 13
Switch(config-track)#object 14
Switch(config-track)#object 15
Switch(config-track)#object 16
Switch(config-track)#object 17
% Attempting to exceeded list size limit
-------------------------------------
I think that it support maximum number is 16.

Is this the feature??

If so,are there any reference to it in any of the docs?

When I use IOS 12.2(50) and (53)SE , I found the problem.

IOS description.

Hello Tomoyuki,

the single object index can be any number between 1 and 500. However you are building a track list by putting in AND N simple objects.

So it is reasonable to have a limit of 16.

It means 16 different conditions you can take in account.

You should be able to configure multiple track lists with a different track index (again between 1 and 500) or  to define and use other objects standalone.

see

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/switches/lan/catalyst3750e_3560e/software/release/12.2_50_se/configuration/guide/sweot.html#wp1078760

in your case having used the AND operator the list is up only if each of the objects is up and it is down if one or more objects are down.

I tried to look in command reference of 12.2(50)SE and in command references of 12.4 mainline but I couldn't find a description of track xx list command.

The config guide describes the command but it doesn't say the maximum number of objects that can be in a track list.

Hope to help

Giuseppe
