Hello Freind!

1)Whats the difference between

6509-E with sup720 3B

and

sup 720 3BXL

2)whats the NAM does?

Thanks

Hello Alsayed,

sup 720 3BXL supports MPLS and has more memory both in route processor and in switching processor.

It has also bigger CEF tables = more TCAM entries so it can be used for BGP to receive the full internet table.

see the datasheet that compares the different types of sup720

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/switches/ps5718/ps708/product_data_sheet09186a0080159856.html

2) NAM

it is a protocol analyzer that can be used to perform traffic analysis on traffic that is processed by the chassis.

A span session to the NAM module is used to mirror traffic to the module so that it can be  sniffed.

Hope to help

Giuseppe

Hello Alsayed,

In addition to all the great info Giuseppe provided you, the best tool for pricing and configuration of chassis, Sup, Modules, etc..is the Cisco Dynamic Configurator.  If you don't have a CCO account you can login as a guest, if you do have a CCO account you can even add the discount percentage and get close to what the actual cost is.

P.S, some times it is very very slow, so you have to be patient with it

Reza

THanks freinds
