FXO Outbound Call not working

Hi all,

Recently I have configured a voice gateway 2821 with 2 X 4FXO ports and 4FXO for incoming and the others are outgoing. The incoming call is working fine but the outgoing always showing engage tone.

I have configured these 4 Outbound FXO lines in CCM route pattern but when I try to make outgoing call I can see the voice gateway try to router to these FXO port one by one and without making successful call.

The following are the configuration of the FXOs and I have attached the result of the debug voice profile voice application and debug ccapi inout:

Have you tried the outgoing lines with a regular phone ?

After that if still problems, collect "debug vpm signal".

Hi Bevila,

Thanks for your response. We have tested the lines with analog phone and all work fine. The following are the capture of the debug of VPM signal and it seems like the outgoing call keep trying the 4 FXO ports which I assigned for outgoing call:

Port is detecting a power denial

Can you try "no supervisory disconnect signal"

Hi Bevila,

The problem resolved due to the telco backend hardware issue which caused the outgoing call failed. Appreciate your advice and assistance. Thanks.

I'm having the exact same problem as the original poster.  I notice that this thread is very old, but perhaps someone could enlighten me to what is going on.

The only difference is that the following is what I use for my voice-ports:

trunk-group POTS-FXO

connection plar opx 2857

caller-id enable

wooiboontan, if possible, can you let me know what you did to fix it?

Hi Hyoun,

For my case the problem was not the CUE configuration issue and it was caused by the telco backend switching hardware faulty so after they have changed the equipment everything back to good.

I hope this helps.

Regards,

WB

WB,

Almost always it is the way the port is configured.  For an FXO using UVERSE line converted to analog and plugged into and FXO the following works:

2851-LAB(config)#voice-port 0/2/0
2851-LAB(config-voiceport)#supervisory disconnect dualtone mid-call
2851-LAB(config-voiceport)#no battery-reversal
2851-LAB(config-voiceport)#cptone CN
2851-LAB(config-voiceport)#timing hookflash-out 50

Or for the entire line of the port:

voice-port 0/2/0
 trunk-group Home 1
 supervisory disconnect dualtone mid-call
 no battery-reversal
 cptone CN
 timing hookflash-out 50
 connection plar opx 103
 description Home
 caller-id enable
