Hi ,
I found this info in the Q&A for Catalyst 2960 Switches:
Q. What are the advantages of Cisco Catalyst 2960 Series Switches with the LAN Base software relative to Cisco Catalyst 2960 Series Switches with the LAN Lite software?
12-23-2009 01:58 AM
The 2960 switches come in either 2960 versions or 2960G versions, the 2960G is a 10/100/1000 switch, the 2960 is 10/100 switch, Both the LAN Lite and LAN Base switches have Gigabit uplinks of varying numbers depending on versions except the WS-2960-24-S which is LAN lite 24 port 10/100 only with no uplinks
Hope this helps

Thanks for your response,
I know that details that you provided, what I need is an explanation about what was written on Cisco's website (in the red color). what do they mean by that ?

I Dont know why its in red only that you these switches are either 10/100 or 10/100/100 and the 10/100 will notallow upgrade to 10/100/1000

Hello and good afternoon,
Here is the link to the model comparisons:
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps6406/prod_models_comparison.html
There are gig uplinks on the lan-lite products.
Is there a specific application, feature or functionality you are looking for? Can I assist you all in finding the right switch?
Kindest regards and best wishes for a great new year!
