Ello All,

Want to know technically about 2 scenerio on L3 Switches/ Routers.

1) What will happen if we run(Power ON) a fresh Cisco router/L3 switches after removing both SUPERVISOR (SUP cards).

2) a)  What will happen if we removed both the SUP cards from a cisco device(router/L3 switches) which is in production.(i.e remove SUP cards during Power ON condition).

b) What will happen if we removed single SUP cards from a cisco device(router/L3 switches) which is in production.(i.e remove SUP card during Power ON condition).

1) It will not boot up because the supervisor is the brains of the switch

2) it would crash - not recommended

3) depends - if active supervisor it will failover to standby sup. If standby sup nothing. If the only sup see 2)
