How can I make the router respond to udp echo port 7

Using either solar winds wankiller or WAN traffic generator by DBAP, I'm only able to load the circuit in one direction because the 7200 at the other end won't respond to the UDP Echo. I've tried turning on udp-small-servers and ip sla monitor responder to no avail.

What am I missing here?

Hello Tom,

I don't think that this is possible: the router is designed to forward / route traffic not to take part in application flows.

You would need to deploy an host on the other end to send traffic in the opposite direction.

By the way, this is usually the deployment scenario for tools like netperf or iperf.

http://iperf.sourceforge.net/

Hope to help

Giuseppe
