Multiple Fax line requirement

Unanswered Question

I have a prospect with 7 incoming fax lines over AT&T SIP trunks.  They need to be processed differently based on incoming DID.  My plan is to get them to a server with a smar modem.  The fax volume is not great, it's just that the client needs a lot of lines for business reasons.

Questions:

1.  Can I send several incoming fax  DIDs to a single FXS port on a UC?

2.  Can I encode the DID into DTMF tones which a fax card in a server will convert back to DIDs for processing decisions?

3.  Any other solution recommendations?

I have this problem too.

If the trunks are already SIP, I would recommend a boardless fax solution like XMedius.  This would handle the routing and processing of incoming faxes without the need to convert to/from analog.

The answer to the first question is yes. Others have weighed in regarding the other two.

Thanks,
