how to monitor standby FWSM unit status remotely ?

When two FWSM module works in Active/standby mode,it seems that the standby unit is invisible,how can I monitor its state remotely ?

The standby firewall should have it's own IP address per interface. This is the IP address you use to access it. It does depend however on routing. If you are using a dynamic routing protocol on the firewall(s) then the routes will not be present on the standby firewall so you will only be able to access the standby from a device in the same subnet.

As long as the standby firewall has it's own IP and knows how to route to remote subnets you should be able to monitor it.
