I type "ip accounting mac-address" in my cisco switch and the commands are there but it does not show any output. Any ideas?

Not clear what output you are expecting to see. "ip accounting mac-address" enables mac-address accounting on the switch. If you want to see the result of enabling this command use the "sh interface mac" global command.

I meant I type "Show IP Accounting".
I guess the command on a switch would be "Show interface mac-accounting" but that displays nothing. How do you enable accounting on a switch?

Hello Daniel,
Here is document explaining accounting and how to enable it.
