At one of our customer location we got 4507 switch as access switch and 3750 switch as core switch. Its a very small network consist of

10-15 switches. This 4507 is new switch with 4 gigabit ethernet line cards and standby supervisor engine.  This switch is showing cpu load between 20 to 25%. We collected  cpu logs and Cat4k Mgmt HiPri / Cat4k Mgmt LoPri are only taking the cpu no other process taking much cpu.

There is no problem with my network but still i want to know if this is the normal behaviour of switch.

Is this the normal cpu load???????

I am attaching the output of show tech-suuport

Hello Sudhir,

there is a specific document that helps in troubleshooting high cpu usage on C4500

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/switches/ps663/products_tech_note09186a00804cef15.shtml

also this process uses cpu

143        4340       704       6164  5.27%  3.70%  1.19%   0 HTTP CP

use sh proc cpu sorted 1min

to see processes using cpu ordered per use

Hope to help

Giuseppe

That is normal "low" cpu utilization for that model.  It would show 25-30%  with nothing attached to the switch as that is the normal cpu just to turn on the box and have it sit there doing it's normal function .
