Call Forward on Boss vs Secretary

Hi, I have an issue regarding the operation between a boss and a secretary. The Boss is in a meeting and call forward all calls to his secretary; after this  she receives a call and wants to transfer to the boss but  the call is returned to his phone, since the boss set is call forwarded to the secretary set.

Is there a way to put this working or the boss cant forward calls to his secretary if he wants to receive some calls?

Assign a "Normal" button type on the bosses phone, which is an extension (and will consume a license) and the secretary knows it.

When the Boss sets CFW All on his main line, it forwards to Secretary.   Secretary can then transfer it back to this private extension, which will not forward back.


Or assign an intercom button between these two and they can talk that way.

Hi Steve, thanks for your fast answer. Well this is a good work around not a clean one but good.


The right way should be the UC500 recognize that a set A is forward to set B and knows that set B is  the only one that can call to set A.

In addition to this, if you want something a bit different, the secretary can use the transfer to VM feature to have the calls go to the bosses VM if he doesn't want to be disturbed.

Sure, if you open up CCA...

Configure -> Telephony -> VoiceMail -> Setup

Direct Transfer to Voicemail.


You check the box and provide a prefix digit. 


To use the feature, when you are on a call, you can press the TrnsVM softkey and then press the ext you want to go to VM of.
