Do I need to shut down the 3845 router in order to install additional (one existing already) NM-1T3/E3 Module? Or the Module can be inserted while the router is up and 'Sh ver' gives the card information for further configuring (card type etc).
The module does NOT support Online Insertion and Removal (OIR) so you need to power down the router and insert the module. Just make sure you have the right IOS and Feature set.
