Hi there,
We have a Cisco 6509 Switch setup as a DHCP server for our Cisco IP Phones.
Normal procedure would see the Switch Ping an unused IP address before leasing it to a new client.
All our IP phone networks are on a dedicated voice VRF ..
The Phones receive IP addresses normally most of the time, however sometimes we get IP conflicts, I think it is because when the Switch
tries to Ping an IP address its going to lease, it tries to do a ping, without the VRF.. ie. it just pings without the vrf statement.
Does this make sense? is there a command that will force the IOS DHCP server to Ping out of a specific VRF?
Many thanks,
Dion
