Load balancing is enabled by default. Use the "show etherchannel load-balance" command to see the current algorithm.

A channel interface should get its own ifTable entry, so you can monitor that interface to get an aggregated utilization. As for load balancing and redundancy over channels, see http://www.cisco.com/en/US/tech/tk389/tk213/technologies_tech_note09186a0080094714.shtml .

Hi Joe,
Are etherchannels load blanacing by default on 6500 switches, or do I need to configure globally?
port-channel load-balance {src-mac | dst-mac | src-dst-mac | src-ip
show etherchannel load-balance
Thanks,
Colm
