Is virtualization of the new Unified Business Attendant Console Supported yet?

Sam Alexander

Customers are NOT happy having to dig up additional HW for the console server. Most have just completed or will be soon, a major server virtualization. With Unity now able to be virtualized and the AC server requirements being fairly basic, this raises some serious questions about the deployment model.

So... I can't find anything specifically stating that one CANNOT run the AC server on a virtual machine but, nothing saying you can either.

Any help out there is appreciated

Thanks

Sam

No, it's NOT supported

Cisco Unified Business Attendant Console

You can install the server software for the Cisco Unified Business Attendant Console to a dedicated hardware server or load it on a desktop PC running Windows 2003 Server or Windows 2008 Server. For mission-critical installations, a dedicated hardware server is recommended because shutting off the PC server will cause the Cisco Unified Business Attendant Console to lose Cisco Unified Communications Manager connectivity.
