I am new in outdoor wireless, I recently installed an 1300 AP series on a roof I need vehicles to download every day some datas to an embedded wireless device using an atheros chipset. with those devices, Download is very slow and the average to download 25Mb can take half an hour because of disconnection, the download protocol is FTP, when I try with my Windows 7 laptop using an embedded intel wireless chipset the same FTP download take me 35 seconds, sometimes it can disconnect also.

Can you give some help on how to troubleshoot it ? because using an ACKSYS with the same device and the same wired network for the FTP server which is a highspeed network LAN, it takes 1 minute so it is very correct response time.

you can see the AP type here :

What I see is that with the cisco AP, my laptop uses the max bandwidth for the B or G network so 11 or 54 and the embedded device use the slowest speed rate so 1 Mbt/s.

can you give some help ?
