hi,
I want to limit traffic on output of my 3750 to the upper limit of my dsl connexion ( 700 Kbps)
for making my own qos and not by the provider box,
but it appear that it is not possible to make this :
Policy Map police_case
Class class-default
police 600000 8000 exceed-action drop
case(config-if)#service-policy output police_case
police command is not supported for this interface
Configuration failed!
Warning: Assigning a policy map to the output side of an interface not supported
Is there a solution to this?
ps :
my ios

You need to use the "srr-queue bandwidth limit ..." command. However you can only specify a percentage of the bandwidth from 10 to 90% so you won't be able to get as granular are 700Kbps -

Hi
Yes.. policing is not possible on the egress interface.. it is supported only on ingress interface... on the egress you can use bandwidth limit, bandwidth shape or share configurations.. you need to define the queue lenghts, thresholds etc, and do bandwidth limit percentage based.. but do you realy need to do this? isnt it upto the ISP to shape traffic ? In any case , pls refer to this doc for more info ;
Hope this helps.. all the best..
