Cisco 1941 HWIC Throughput

Hi,

Can anyone confirm that the new 1941 routers now handle Gigabit at wire speed using the HWIC-1GE-SFP module?  The data sheet doesn't make it clear, see extract below:

  • Each HWIC Slot offers high data throughput capability
  • Up to 1.6 Gbps aggregate towards the router processor (?)

None of the ISR routers, either G1 or G2 comes even close to Gigabit speed.

Check attached document. Allow some 20% performance improvement for the G2s.

If you need gigabit wire speed, use a L3 switch.
