SIP Trunk Specifics

Hey All,

I'm newer to the SIP world with Cisco and have a few basic questions I am having a hard time finding answers for, so please bear with me if the questions have obvious answers that I may have missed.

A little back ground.

We are integrating a Cisco CUCM release 7.0 to an internal IVR using SIP Trunks.

The questions are:

Is there licensing specifically for SIP Trunks?

How many simultaneous calls can be pushed through a single SIP Trunk?

How do I calculate the required amount of bandwidth needed on the LAN based on the numbers of calls across the SIP Trunk or Trunks?

Thanx...Frank

Hey,

Is there licensing specifically for SIP Trunks? - no special license needed.

How many simultaneous calls can be pushed through a single SIP Trunk? - there is no limit except your bandwidth

How do I calculate the required amount of bandwidth needed on the LAN based on the numbers of calls across the SIP Trunk or Trunks? - based on codecs you use, check this link for full information: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/tech/tk652/tk698/technologies_tech_note09186a0080094ae2.shtml

No licensing required, also no maximum number of calls (depends on BW you have or calls the telco will allow).

For the BW use this tool:

Voice Codec Bandwidth Calculator
