I need help regarding above subject.

One of my customer have ACS 5.0.0.21.
They have Cisco WLC as well. Now they want wireless user authentication through ACS 5.0 & ACS 5.0 integration with AD 2008.
I have tried a lot to get any relevant document related to same issuefrom Internet but unfortunately there is no doc. While searching I haveseen lot of doc related to ACS 4.0 & 4.1 wireless userauthentication but not ACS 5.0.

If anyone have any idea or someone have any experience on it, so kindly let me know as early as possible.

Waiting for postive & prompt response.

Thanks & Regards,

Tabish Mirza

Hi Tabish:

Unfortunately, there is no specific document for wireless authentication with ACS 5.x

If you wish you can check the below listed sections from acs 5.1 user guide:

You can configure AD on Windows to use as external database, you can use the following link to integrate your AD

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/partner/docs/net_mgmt/cisco_secure_access_control_system/5.1/user/guide/users_id_stores.html#wp1053213

For authorization using TACACS+

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/partner/docs/net_mgmt/cisco_secure_access_control_system/5.1/user/guide/pol_elem.html#wp1074366

For configuring managing access

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/net_mgmt/cisco_secure_access_control_system/5.1/user/guide/access_policies.html

Hi Tabish,

Did you find out how to do it? I'm facing the same issue. I have WLC authenticate via ACS4.2 to AD, however I'd like to upgrade 4.2 to 5.1.

Please let me know if you found any useful info.

Thanks,

Tao

hi tabish,

gud day, did you solved this setup? i have same problem also, same as your setup.

thank you and regards

I could be wrong, but I thought that ACS 5.0 and 5.1 didn't work well with

AD '08.  ACS 5.2 is out that should work with AC '08

Hi,

When doing this setup please make sure you are running ACS 5.0.0.21.6 or later due to a major issue with WLCs.

Only patch 6 or later versions work with WLCs.

Regarding AD 2008 support, please note that only ACS 5.2 supports all editions of:

Windows AD 2003

Windows AD 2008

Windows AD 2008 R2.

Please takea a look into this document showing how to integrate with AD and how to create the authentication flows (it shows switches as AAA clients, however the phylosofy is the same for WLCs):

https://supportforums.cisco.com/docs/DOC-13545.

HTH,

Tiago
