i've set up attendant console from my cucm6.0. ac is communicating to cucm, because when i enter my receptionist's ext in the configuration, her name appears. however, as soon as sh tries to log in to ac, an error message pops up that states: invalid device. specify another device.

the reception telephone has been added to the ac device authentication application user, as well as the ac application user. both users have also been associated with the Standard CTI Allow Call Park Monitoring, Standard CTI Allow Control of All Devices and Standard CTI Enabled groups.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks,
Johan

we setup the service parameters for authentication accounts, make sure you use a simple password like 12345.  Anything else seems to break it.

Hi,

I am already using 12345 as the password. I've restarted the ac service, as well as the ctimanager service, reinstalled the ac, and created new ac application accounts. Still nothing, i am afraid.

Well, its for sure CTI issue.  CTI is what controls the phone.

Did you check this post out?

A bunch of us had this conversation last year I beleive on which is the correct way to set it up.  Its a tricky process and sometimes it takes ripping it all out, and putting it back in again from scratch. (AC setup)

that's my thinking as well. deleting everything from the cucm config, and starting again. will keep you updated. maybe it's just a bug.

p.s. i've have seen the post, and it is great.

here is another post.

There is another one, but I cant find it since they change the netpros around I talked about 2 years ago.

For a quick test, try click to call with your IP phone:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cupa/click_to_call/7.0/english/release/ReleaseNote_c2c.html#wp2431921

This will basically use CTI to/from your PC and control your deskphone similar to how AC works.

Also, I know AC is frustrating.  Sometimes simply restarting the services in the correct order (CTI first, then maybe AC) will work.   Or take the phone you are controlling, registering it only to the Subscriber and see if it will work.

thanks for the info. i'm afraid that i have already tried everything that you have suggested. i'm going to upgrade my cucm version, and see if that makes a difference. i'll keep you posted.
