Hi all,

Our customer is trying to test multicast application on FWSM before going to production.

Multicast server and client are connected to one vlan and respective L3 VLAN interface is configured on FWSM.

Multicast is enabled using "Mulicast-routing" command and statically joined IGMP gourp using "IGMP static-group 239.0.10.1"

FWSM is running with 3.1(10)Version.

But the application doesnt work.

can any one suggest what will be the minimum requirement for testing the multicast application in one vlan?

Is there any configuration is required on Switch running with s72033_sp-ADVIPSERVICESK9_WAN-M

Version 12.2(33)SXH4.

Regards

Madhu

  • Cisco Employee,

Multicast server and the client are on the same vlan? What is the reason to enable multicast on the FWSM if both the server and the client are on the same vlan?
