Stacking a 3750G

Hello,

I am going to be stacking a new 24 port C3750GTS switch with another of the same model. I have done this before and I have set the priority of the current live switch to 5 and I will provision the 2 switch before or after I use the stack cable.  I have a couple of questions:

1.) Both the new and older switch are running IOS 12.2(35)SE5 - C3750-IPBASE-M, is it worth upgrading or leave them as they are?

2.) Do both switches have t use the same IOS version? or Image?

3.) I have read you can stack different models togther, which I didn't think possible and I can't find a link for what can be stacked with what, does anyone have a link?

Thanks

1) Yes I say it's def. worth upgrading to the latest IOS. Probably corrected bugs from the older version

2) Yes they both must be running the same IOS/Image

3) Not a 100 percent sure on this. You are probably better off opening a ticket to find out.

Hi Andy,

With 3750s you can mix and match, so you can have a mix of 3750, 3750G and 3750E.

Please refer to this document for adding a switch to your stack:

Hi

Both the switches should be same image.

we can connect 3750 3750G 3750E series also into the same stack

What ever the image is running in the master switch the same image will push into the member switches automatically when u add the switches into the stacks , if it is not happend we need to upgrade the image manually

Attaching stacking doc
