Can intercom be used to simultaneously contact multiple telephones?

I have a client that requests the ability to initiate a broadcast intercom to all other telephones simultaneously at the site.  Telephones are 7942G and 7962G.  System version: 6.1.2.1127-1.  The requirement includes the ability to initiate the intercom session from any telephone to all other telephones simultaneously.  They had this ability with the Nortel Norstar system that we just replaced.  I have Intercom buttons set up in a test environment.  I can initiate intercom sessions between two telephones.  I tried to set up all intercom buttons with the same intercom DN but Communications Manager didn't allow this.  The thought was to initiate intercom sessions to a common number that is on all telephones.  Is there a way to set up an intercom group that will broadcast to all intercom DNs within the group?  Does anyone have other suggestions to satisfy this client?

Hi Grant,

This feature (Broadcast Intercom/Paging) is not built-in to any CUCM version (including 7.x, unlike CME) but is most possible (via IP Phone speaker and Overhead) using these highly rated Third party products (among others);

Singlewire Informacast

Hello,

I would like to verify whit you if its ok just to call the other sides, or if you need the other ip phones just to receive the call.

As soon as I get your answer I will be helping you.

Thanks,

Hello,

I think that what you need can be achive doing this,

you must need to add a new line to the users, in order to receive the broadcast call.

Afther that you will need a hount pilot pointing to all of those lines.

And you will need to configure the lines to autoanswer the calls.

I think this will be everything .

Thank you, Luis. Your idea was good, however I found that the call is always auto-answered by the first listed DN in the Line Group and the call does not get answered by any other listed DN. I am currently investigating the third party products listed by Rob.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to help me investigate this issue.
