BW throttling on 6509

Unanswered Question

So I'm sure this has to do with me having the wrong version or model of something....but I'm trying to throttle download speeds  from anywhere to a certain vlan.

I created a match any class-map and attached it to a policy-map that is set to use a aggregate-policer for 512 Kb/s

I attached it to the vlan interface. I tried it both directions to make sure,but download still went through unlimited. It did slow upload speeds though.

So if it is not supported, what would be another recomendation to accomplish this?

Using Sup 720 10G and IOS (s72033_rp-IPBASEK9-VM), Version 12.2(33)SXH5

Thanks!

I have this problem too.

Hello!

From the description you need only egress policing on SVI interface of vlan

traffic to which you want to limit.

Do you still have the problem?

There are some restrictions, but it should work, see:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/switches/lan/catalyst6500/ios/12.2SX/configuration/guide/qos.html#wp1727272

So could you post you config of:

- input and output phy interface;

- input and output int SVI;

- Used class-map config (better to use ACL in some class, for example standard one like "access-list 1 permit any");

- Used egress policy-map config

- /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0cm 5.4pt 0cm 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0cm; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:10.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-ansi-language:#0400; mso-fareast-language:#0400; mso-bidi-language:#0400;} Output of "sh mls qos ip", "show mls qos", /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0cm 5.4pt 0cm 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0cm; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:10.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-ansi-language:#0400; mso-fareast-language:#0400; mso-bidi-language:#0400;} "show policy int SVIx"

Thanks,

Sergey
