It is not clear from this output what the problem is. Here are some things that need clarification and some observations.

- has this worked before and then stopped working? Or is this a new thing that has not worked before?

- one of the beginning messages indicates that this is treated as a callin. Do you know who initiated the call? Do you know what kind of device and how it is configured that initiated the call?

- what kind of router is this? what kind of device/card is Async7? How is it configured?

- Async7 implies that this is an analog device. Is the calling device also analog? Or is it possible that the calling device is some digital/ISDN device?

- the output indicates that your device is making numerous attempts to initiate negotiation  (As7 LCP: O CONFREQ [REQsent]) and every attempt to initiate negotiation times out. This suggests some incompatibility with the calling device. Is it using PPP? Is it configured for CHAP authentication?

Dear All,

I was able to solve the issue by adding the following command to line 1:

modem autoconfigure type usr_courier.

I was using the default modem cap.

Thank you.

I am glad that you got the issue resolved. Thank you for posting back to the forum indicating that the problem was solved and what you did to solve it. It makes the forum more useful when people can read about a problem and can then read what was done that successfully resolved the problem.

It would also help readers to know that this thread has useful information if you would mark this problem as solved.
