I've looked over all the spec sheets and hunted around, can't seem to figure out if the RV016 or RV082 support PoE. Does anyone know for sure one way or the other? Assuming it doesn't, what Cisco product would be best to inject PoE on a small business network. I have 1 RV016, and I'm looking to deploy a RV082 and WAP4410N, with the 4410 being the only device on my network that would need PoE, I'd rather not have to buy a dedicated PoE Switch or Hub just for that one device. Thanks in advance.
I just talked to one of my fellow engineer, and he has told me that he had a similar issue as yours. Further more, the WAP4410n does say that you can use the WAPPOE12 but the device that supports for internet connection e.g. router, switches will not work. the WAPPOE12 does support IEEE 802.3af. I looked at the users guide for the WAPPOE12(link below) the WAP4410n needs 802.3af for PoE.
So you will need a PoE switch as in a Unmanaged Switch SD2008P would be suffice.
the WAPPOE12 supports only 802.3, 802.3u.
Sorry for the confusion,
Unfortunately, none of our Cisco Small Business Routers supply PoE, nor can be powered up using PoE. If you are looking to connect a PoE device to one of our routers, Yes you can use a Power injector to do so, going out bound to the device. e.g. WAP4410n you can use the WAPPOE12. You can find this informaton on the WAP4410n Access Point User Guide
I hope this will help.
