we've a cluster of CUCM 7.1.3 and customer wants to generate only 1 CDR file per day. We set the CDR File Time Interval to 1440 and now only 1 report per day is generated. THe problem is that this file is generated at 6PM instead of midnight (to have all calls of day in a single file).
We wasn't able to find where to set the time when CDR file is generated; any suggestions?

Hi Roberto,

Scheduling Daily Reports

The Daily Report Scheduler schedules the time and duration of CAR daily reports.

Before You Begin

Specify the reports to be generated by using the Automatic Generation/Alert Option. See Chapter 35, "Configuring the Automatic Generation of CAR Reports and Alerts", for more information.

This section describes how to schedule the time and duration of the automatic daily reports.

Step 1 Choose System > Scheduler > Daily.

The Daily Scheduler window displays.

Step 2 From the Time drop-down list box, choose the hour and minute when you want daily reports to be generated.

A 24-hour clock represents time, where 0 equals midnight, and 1 through 11 represent a.m. hours, and 12 through 23 represent the p.m. hours of 1 p.m. through 11 p.m., respectively.

Step 3 From the Life drop-down list box, choose the duration of the report from the range of 0 to 12 days.

Tip If you set the life of the report to 00, the report does not generate.

Step 4 Click the Update button.

Reports with report generation interval of Daily in the Automatic Generation/Alert Option and enabled automatically generate every day at the time that you specify and get deleted after the number of days that you specify.

Changes take effect at midnight. You can force the change to take effect immediately by stopping and restarting the CAR Scheduler service.

Tip To restore the defaults, click the Restore Defaults button. By default, the daily reports run at 1 a.m. every day and get purged after two days.

Hope this helps!

Hi Rob,

first of all thanks for your answer.

I'll add some other infos to let you better understand the scenario: this report should be sent to an external billing server, so we configured CUCM to have an access this external billing server via SFTP: this configuration is working fine. We made no configuration for the CAR.

The problem is that this file is generated at 6PM instead of midnight, looking at the call detail in the file; we want that file is generated at midnight in order to have all calls of the day in a single file.

Best Regards

There is a reason for not setting this to 24 hours

1st since it works all day the CPU impact is very little, if you expect the calls from 1 day to get into 1 file it will cause some high CPU

2nd in case anything happens to your server, crash, freezes, etc you'll end up with NO data

my 2 cents
