I am able to connect IMAP clients to the UC520 on the CUE address 10.1.10.1 for internal users. Is there a way to connect these users to throught he WAN public side. Right now if I set up users IMAP clients to access the WAN side they get a auth fail.

My advice is that you setup a VPN for these users, if no more than 10 (simultaneous).

OK, then you can forward the IMAP (TCP 143) port to the CUE IP (10.1.10.1), using CCA. Notice this is NOT a secure connection. You can change it in CUE to use SSL and forward the IMAP port for that.
The UC500 will have to have a static public IP on its WAN interface, or you will need DDNS.

by making a NAT rule? Does the firewall follow the NAT rule?

Yes, the pinhole for that port should be opened through the firewall.
