SPA50XG Extension Dialplan and 911.

Hello All,

Okay, here's a wierd one for you. Or, maybe it's just really simple and so am I.

I'm trying to enable 911, and other X11 service number access on our Asterisk system.  We're using all SPA50XG phones with a few SPA942's thrown in here and there.  I have the Asterisk side worked out.  I tested it from an analog extension on an FXS port and all works as planned.  But I can't seem to get the right dialplan configuration on the SPA50XG's.

Here's the Extension 1 dialplan from the SPA509G I'm testing with:

2xx|*2xx|3xx|*3xx|4xx|5xx|*5xx|6xx|*6xx|7xx|*72xx|8xx|9,[2-9]11|9,[2-9]xxxxxx|9,1[2-9]xxxxxxxxx

Everything but x11 works.  If for example I dial 9,811, the phone comes back with "Incomplete Address" in the display and a reorder tone.  I'm watching the Asterisk log as I dial and the dial string never makes it to the switch, it's erroring out at the phone.

I'll read through the manual tonight, but I was hoping someone else had run into this and might be able to tell me what I'm doing that's making my phones so unhappy with me.

Thanks,

Dear sir;

Few questions.

- Is the same dial plan used on SPA9XX, does it work?

- Did you upgrade the unit to latest firmware 7.4.X?

- Can you collect syslog on the phone to see what the debug message (level 3)?

- Please try this dial plan:

([2-8]xx|*[235-8]xx|*72xx|9,[2-9]11|9,[2-9]xxxxxx|9,1[2-9]xxxxxxxxx)

Alberto

Alberto,

I will try this on the SPA942 this afternoon and report back.

All of the SPA509G and 504G phones are running 7.4.3 and the SPA942 phones are running 6.1.5(a).

I will collect the syslog output and forward it to you.

I know my dialplan could have been a little better!  The extension list has grown organically and we haven't had a chance to put the change control request through to shorten them.

As a side note, I played around last night after I posted this and found that the following dialplan still gives me the same error:

2xx|*2xx|6xx|*6xx|9,x11

Again, the dial string never even makes it through to the Asterisk server.

Thanks,

Alberto,

I am using an SPA509G this morning with 7.4.3.

First, I tried using the string that I sent in my original message:
2xx|*2xx|3xx|*3xx|4xx|5xx|*5xx|6xx|*6xx|7xx|*72xx|8xx|9,[2-9]x11|9,[2-9]xxxxxx|9,1[2-9]xxxxxxxxx

As soon as I dialed 9,811 the phone locked up hard and required a power cycle.

This is the syslog capture from that attempt:

Next, I applied your dialplan string:
([2-8]xx|*[235-8]xx|*72xx|9,[2-9]11|9,[2-9]xxxxxx|9,1[2-9]xxxxxxxxx)

The first number I tried was 9,811, the phone locked as soon as I dialed the last digit.
The second number I tried was 9,411 with the same result.

The syslog capture doesn't show anything, but here it is anyway:

Finally, I moved onto the SPA942 with the 6.1.5(a) firmware.
I applied your dialplan string:
([2-8]xx|*[235-8]xx|*72xx|9,[2-9]11|9,[2-9]xxxxxx|9,1[2-9]xxxxxxxxx)

and set the debug level to 3.  This time the phone did come back with the 'Address Incomplete'
error in the display and the reorder tone.  The dial string never made it to Asterisk.
