Dear All,
I am getting this error in 6500 chassis and packet drops when I ping its LAN IP address.
15:28:54.247 FW[Mod 06]: sso_get_reg: ERR sso 0: reg 0xCF value 0x00 rc 0x80
15:28:54.247 FW[Mod 06]: sso_get_reg: ERR sso 0: reg 0xBA value 0x00 rc 0x80
15:28:54.247 FW[Mod 06]: sso_get_reg: ERR sso 0: reg 0xBB value 0x00 rc 0x80
This chassis has two supervisors.
I think this is an error msg because of SSO on module 6 (SUP) and I did not find this error in cisco IOS system message guide.
there is no work around in cisco for this error.
so should I go for IOS upgrade?
Plz help.
Regards,
Nitin

Hello Nitin,
I agree with your understanding that is related to SSO. To be noted these messages are internal messages not formatted in IOS way to send messages
sh redundancy provides a good output? I mean there is no real impact on the device beside these error messages?
What IOS image is running?
Hope to help
Giuseppe

Dear Giuseppe,
Thanks for reply.
Current IOS is ipservices-k9-m12.2(18)sxf7
What about the packet drops while pinging chassis IP address.
Regards,
Nitin

Hello Nitin,
I had missed that part
with chassis ip address do you mean a loopback interface, an HSRP VIP, an SVI L3 vlan interface ip address?
Hope to help
Giuseppe

Thanks Giuseppe,
Packet drops problem we have sorted out.
For error messages, I opened TAC case and cisco is recommending for SUP reseating and rebooting. We also have a spare SUP so if reseating and rebooting the module doesn't solves it we will replace the SUP with the new one.
Thanks,
Nitin
