SA520 VLAN interconnect

Unanswered Question

I have configured my SA520 with 2 custom VLANS 10 & 90, both with DHCP-servers within the SA.

(10.0.10.0/255.255.255.0 and 10.0.90.0/255.255.255.0 and their respective DGs set to .1 within their subnets)

Both VLANs have the option "Inter VLAN Routing Enable" checked

Still I cannot communicate between the VLAN's in any way :(

What I'd like to accomplish in the end is for the 10-vlan to access the 90, but not the opposite, but for now I'm happy if ANY of the vlans could communicate...

/p

I can reproduce this.  I will file a bug and forward this on to development.

Actually, I can't reproduce this, it was a problem on one of the devices that I was using to test this.  This appears to be working.  Can you verify that you are running 1.1.21 code?

Hi Stephane,

Can you check with 1.1.42 release?

This is definitely a bug, but most likely resolved in 1.1.42.

Thanks,

Biraja

I have very similar challenges, just that my setup is a little different.

If i use the UC520 behind a buffalo router it all works fine with the right ports forwarded and everything. but the minute i put the UC520 behind the SA520, i can only make calls and not receive any. Thats the wierd part. i have forwarded all of the same ports just as the other setup and it still does not work.

i dont think its a problem with the firmware, its to do with the setup of the SA520. i will try it again tonight and let you know.

Hi,

I check it out with 1.1.42 and have not see this issue.

I created VLAN25 with 192.168.2.1 as the default gateway (DG) ip address.

When I uncheck the "interVLAN routing" on either VLAN1 or VLAN25 or both, I can not ping the host on the other VLAN, but I could ping the DG of the other VLAN, which it is supposed to do so.

Enabling the interVLAN routing on both the VLANs works as expected.

Can you check once again?

Thanks,

Biraja

Hi Biraja,

I've just test:

Condition:

VLAN 1:192.168.10.0/255.255.255.0. SA540 IP : 192.68.10.254; Host 192.168.10.10

VLAN 1:192.168.2.0/255.255.255.0. SA540 IP : 192.68.2.254; Host  192.168.2.1

Form 192.168.10.10 I can ping 192.68.10.254 and 192.68.2.254 but I can't ping 192.68.2.1.

Not sure pinging the 192.168.2.254 is normal !!!

Is this a bug or 'work as designed' ?
