Hi. I have a Cisco 1801 ADSL router recently installed at a customer site.
It suddenly stopped working with ATM0 stuck at initializing. We then installed a test Teldat ADSL router C1+ (using same telephone cable) and that works perfectly.
Plug the 1801 in and still stuck at initializing.
The line is ADSL over POTS 1MB of Telefonica with pseudo-static address IP.
The outputs:
interface ATM0
no ip address
no atm ilmi-keepalive
pvc 8/32
encapsulation aal5snap
!
dsl operating-mode auto
.....
Router#sh int atm0
ATM0 is initializing, line protocol is down
Hardware is MPC ATMSAR (with Alcatel ADSL Module)

You need and ADSL FW upgrade, that you can download from ftp://ftp.cisco.com/pub/access/800

Any other possible solution to the problem? Not solved by simply updating.
Thank you very much!

You would need a support contract to download newer firmware, unfortunately for paying customers only.
